Former Melbourne Rebels Super Rugby club owner Andrew Cox has pulled his spectacular Brighton mansion from the market.

The New Zealand-born businessman, who owns the private equity fund Imperium Capital Group, listed his seven-bedroom Italianate residence at 3 Moule Ave with a price guide of $18m-$19.8m in April.

The realestate.com.au listing has since been pulled.

No. 3 Moule Ave, Brighton, was listed in April with a $18m-$19.8m price guide.

The lavish residence blends period features with modern updates.

Abercromby’s director Jock Langley said Covid-19 “certainly hasn’t helped” the campaign, with lockdowns preventing in-person inspections of the lavish abode.

Mr Cox was still keen to sell in the future, Mr Langley said, and he encouraged serious buyers to give him a call.

“At the present time he’s decided to sit tight,” Mr Langley said.

The residence was also previously owned by Seek co-founder Andrew Bassat, and the late disgraced businessman Gavin Muir is another former owner.

Glossy floors and huge living spaces make for a comfortable lifestyle.

The sparkling white kitchen.

Mr Cox bought the Rebels in 2015 before selling his shares in them to the Victorian Rugby Union.

His company, Imperium Capital, owns a number of tourism and hospitality brands including Website Travel, Discount Travel Direct and OxExperience.

New Zealand media and the ABC reported last year Mr Cox was hoping for a bailout by the Queensland Government for a $9.6m debt owed to Australian and New Zealand tourism operators.

A bedroom fit for a king.

Nothing says “fancy” like an egg-shaped freestanding bath.

In Camberwell, the home of Kate Wilson, wife to high-flying businessman Bruce Wilson, at 41 Stanhope Grove, is listed with a price guide of $6.6m-$7.2m.

Mr Wilson is the founder and director of Future Brands Global and Your Wills Pty Ltd, and also served as a chief executive working for Graham Smorgon, a businessman and member of one of the country’s richest families.

The residence at 41 Stanhope Grove, Camberwell, has been listed for $6.6m-$7.2m.

It is owned by Kim Wilson, whose husband Bruce Wilson is a member of Melbourne’s business elite.

The renovated 1903-built home has modern interiors including a kitchen with stone benches and stylish bathrooms.

There’s also a solar-heated pool and a floodlit tennis court, while period details include chandeliers and open fireplaces with striking decorative mantels.

Former Collingwood premiership player Craig Kelly is another previous owner.

RT Edgar agent Antoinette Nido said the home was also previously owned by Melbourne Football Club chief executive Gary Pert and, before him, Pies premiership player Craig Kelly.

Pert played 163 games for Fitzroy and 70 for Collingwood between 1982 and 1995, and was chief executive of his second club for a decade from 2007, including the 2010 premiership and controversial Mick Malthouse-Nathan Buckley coaching succession plan.

Cook up a storm in the huge kitchen.

Or take a long relaxing bath in the modern bathroom.

A water feature over the pool is an elegant touch.

Kelly played 122 games for Collingwood between 1989 and 1996 and is the current chief executive of TLA Worldwide, a sport and talent management company.

The business counts some of the country’s biggest sporting names on its books including Olympian Emma McKeon, Brownlow medallists Lachie Neale, Nat Fyfe and Trent Cotchin, Australian cricketer Aaron Finch, and Gold Coast Suns coach Stuart Dew.

The home has an expressions of interest campaign ending September 13 at 1pm.
